November 14th, 2014

We started our day with visitors, Meredith and Caitlin Cohen, from Adama Jewish farm in Connecticut.  Meredith is from Hillsborough, but has been working at Adama for the last year and a half.  She is in charge of the dairy goats at Adama and wanted to see our dairy operation.  Interestingly, Michael and she have close friends in common.  Meredith and Caitlin stayed through milking and it was interesting to compare notes.

Bob and Hope Carter also had arrived late last evening and were on hand for milking.   With that done, I headed off to breakfast. David was finally done in by the grunge, so he went to bed for the rest of the day.  After breakfast, Madison and Michael finished up chores while I finished the morning mail.    Then we had a roundup of the remaining Dexter herd and moved them to WC East where they were warmly welcomed by Sir Guy and the girls up there.   While Chris cleaned and picked up, I spent the rest of the afternoon running around getting more jars, dropping off junk at the thrift shop, going to Walmart, and running errands all over Durham, the last of which was to pick up two benches discarded by the restaurant next to Exotique  (Yemi’s store that Diane manages).  They are long wooden benches and will be useful on our front porch.

That’s Woodcrest Farm Today!
