Hooray, Hooray! The chickens are moved! We relocated our 3-cage chicken tractor from our upper garden out to a 1-acre pasture we have been using for Mae and Buddy. The prerequisite was to completely fence the perimeter with poultry-proof fencing, which had to be plastic because the main fence is electric. The solution, as is so often the case, is just money. We bought Tenax fencing, at about 55 cents/foot, 4′ high. for 600 feet, it came to a tidy sum, but at least the chickens have plenty of room, we have plenty of room to move the chicken coop around in, and I can start cleaning up their former yard for the hoop house.
Miriam and Daren worked on weeding the new sprouts in the garden, and it looks great. Weather was beautiful today.
